We founded this alterations and tailoring company with TLC: tender loving care. We are third generation tailors who want to make a difference in the world around us. From donating sewing machines to handing out quilts to cancer patients to donating food to the homeless, we believe in making a difference.
Although we are stationed in New York, NY, the charitable partners we support ship nationwide. We are involved with and actively support the below charitable partners. Please consider donating to their cause via their websites.
Quilts for Kids
Quits for Kids: This non-profit organization transforms fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children with life-threatening illnesses and children of abuse. Hundreds of volunteers from all over take time to sew beautiful quilts for children in need. This organization has over 100 chapters located throughout the United States. Their charitable partners include Proctor & Gamble, Dominion Energy, and Rotary International.
The Sewing Machine Project
The Sewing Machine Project: This international organization primarily collects and donates used sewing machines. They believe everyone has the power to make the world a better place. By sharing sewing machines, they create partnerships, strengthen communities, and nurture the creative spirit. Focusing on the contribution to donating sewing machines, people around the world has used this opportunity to not only re-build their lives, but to start small sewing related businesses. To date, over 1,800 sewing machines have been donated across the world. Join us, and lets make a difference together.
2 Ways to Meet With Us
We Visit You (preferred )
- We come to you at the time of your choosing with fitting tools including measuring tape, chalk, and pins. We can bring a mirror by request.
- We pin up the garments and make recommendations on fit.
- A no-obligation price quote is provided (house call fee may apply).
- Once price quote is approved, we take it back to our workshop and start working. We will deliver in about a week, but if you need it back sooner, we can deliver as soon as you need. Next day rush service available for a fee.
